Glen McCandless, founder and president, has been selling and marketing technology products to schools since the early 1980s. From 1983 to 1992, he served in a range of education sales and marketing positions for Apple. Most recently, he was the education marketing specialist responsible for developing a $130-million, K-12 and higher education market segment for Apple's Southern Operations, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1992, Glen became the vice president of sales and marketing for multimedia start-up A.D.A.M. Interactive, an Atlanta-based leader in the design and publishing of medical and health-related multimedia software and web content for college, K-12, and home education markets. He helped lead A.D.A.M. Interactive to a successful public offering in 1995. Previously privately held, the firm currently trades on the NASDAQ Stock Market.

In March 1995, Glen founded Focus Marketing with the goal of providing the best business development services to the education industry, with a focus on sales, marketing, and channel development strategies. Since then he has led this successful consulting company in serving dozens of clients and has built long-standing relationships with many of the leading suppliers to education markets.

An education industry analyst and journalist, Glen is active in the Education Writers Association, the Association of Educational Publishers, and the Software and Information Industry Association’s Education Division. He conducts workshops and seminars on selling and marketing to schools, writes for education industry publications, and speaks frequently at education industry conferences.
