Problem: Faced with increased competition from Macromedia, Adobe Systems had a lofty goal: get the top U.S. design schools to adopt its web design tools and standardize on its technology.

Solution: Focus Marketing developed and helped implement Adobe Partners by Design, a marketing program that promotes design education and lifelong learning for design professionals and facilitates communication between the academic and commercial design communities. The original group of 20 member schools has been expaned to include twenty-seven of the most prestigious design schools strategically located in U.S. cities near the leading commercial design firms. The program has lead to adoption and widespread use of Adobe's design solutions, press recognition, and record growth in sales. Members share best practices and steer product development via web and face-to-face meetings, including an annual roundtable with Adobe managers. The Adobe Design Achievement Awards is an annual recognition event that brings together educators, design professionals, and some of the world's best students of graphic design.
